Synopsis
Vinny is a single Londoner navigating the world of video-call dating during the 2020 lockdown. Matched with five very different women through a dating app, the viewer decides which dates Vinny pursues, what he reveals about himself, and how he handles the awkwardness, chemistry, and vulnerability of getting to know someone through a screen. Each woman has her own storyline, personality, and set of possible outcomes, and the viewer's choices shape not just which relationship develops but what kind of person Vinny becomes along the way. Built by Wales Interactive as a companion piece to The Complex, Five Dates trades thriller tension for romantic comedy warmth while keeping the same seamless FMV branching engine and replayable structure that rewards multiple playthroughs to see every character's full arc.
How the Branching Works
Five Dates features 5 distinct endings. At key decision points the film pauses and presents your options, your choice determines which scene plays next, reshaping alliances, outcomes, and the story's resolution. With 80 minutes of total footage spread across these branches, a single viewing reveals only a fraction of what the film contains. Replay to discover hidden subplots, alternate character arcs, and endings that only unlock when you choose differently.
