Synopsis
Loralyn is a pregnant online interpreter working the late shift from her London apartment when a routine translation job takes a terrifying turn. Asked to interpret an ancient text during a live session, Loralyn inadvertently reads an incantation that summons a malevolent presence into her home, and the homes of everyone connected to the call. As the night spirals into supernatural horror, the viewer makes choices that determine who Loralyn trusts, which dark secrets are revealed about her family, and whether she can protect herself and her unborn child before dawn. Built by Wales Interactive using the same FMV branching engine as The Complex, Night Book delivers its scares through webcam-framed footage, making the viewer feel like they are watching, and controlling, real events unfolding on screen.
How the Branching Works
Night Book features 5 distinct endings. At key decision points the film pauses and presents your options, your choice determines which scene plays next, reshaping alliances, outcomes, and the story's resolution. With 60 minutes of total footage spread across these branches, a single viewing reveals only a fraction of what the film contains. Replay to discover hidden subplots, alternate character arcs, and endings that only unlock when you choose differently.
