Treezy Play is out on Google Play, starting today.

This is the question we have been asked more than any other, usually in a tone that suggests the asker has heard "soon" before. Fair. So here is the plain version: it is not a beta, it is not a waitlist, and it is not a stripped-down companion app. It is Treezy Play, on Android, in the store, now.

The same film, not a smaller one

The Seminal Works of Dr. Tiffany Belle plays on Android exactly as it plays on iPhone. Same dark comedy, same forty minutes, same four branches and twenty-eight endings, same Cinema design language we shipped in 1.5. Nothing was cut to make the port fit.

That mattered more than shipping early. An Android app that played the film but skipped the calls, or skipped the branching, would have been a worse thing to release than nothing.

The call still works the way it should

The part people react to most is the one we were least willing to compromise: Dr. Tiffany Belle FaceTimes you mid-story, and you answer out loud, in your own words.

There is no menu hiding underneath. You say what you actually think, she takes it as the answer, and the scene breaks the way your answer breaks it. On Android that runs through the phone's own speech recognition, and the routing happens the same way it does on iPhone, because it is the same story engine deciding.

Her replies stay on screen as captions. That is deliberate and it is not changing: the actress who plays her declined a voice clone, and we think she was right to.

One account, both phones

Sign in with Google, Apple, or email, and your progress follows you. Start the film on an iPhone at lunch, finish it on an Android phone that evening, and you pick up where you stopped. Your profile portrait comes across too.

If you have been waiting on Android while a household iPhone did the watching, you do not have to start over.

The app is free to download. A membership unlocks the films, and the pricing is the same as on iOS. The debut runs about forty minutes, so it is worth buying the way you would buy a film rather than the way you would buy a season of television.

Only in the call scenes, and that is rather the point of them. If you stay quiet, she notices and nudges you a couple of times. Keep saying nothing and the scene picks a path at the end of the clip and carries on. You are never stuck in a silent room, but speaking is how you steer a call.

Is it on tablets?

It is built for phones. It will install on many Android tablets, but the layout is designed for a phone in your hand, the same as on iOS.
