Synopsis
Erica Mason is a young woman haunted by the murder of her father, a scientist at the Delphi Institute, a mysterious psychiatric facility. When a severed hand bearing her father's ring is delivered to her door, Erica is drawn back to Delphi, where she must confront the institute's disturbing experiments and the patients who may hold the key to the truth. Using touch-based controls on a companion app or the PlayStation controller's touchpad, the viewer guides Erica through live-action scenes, physically interacting with the environment (lighting matches, opening doors, turning pages) to shape her investigation. Originally developed by Flavourworks in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment, Erica features multiple branching paths and endings that recontextualize the entire story.
How the Branching Works
Erica features 6 distinct endings. At key decision points the film pauses and presents your options, your choice determines which scene plays next, reshaping alliances, outcomes, and the story's resolution. With 90 minutes of total footage spread across these branches, a single viewing reveals only a fraction of what the film contains. Replay to discover hidden subplots, alternate character arcs, and endings that only unlock when you choose differently.
