The New Treezy Play Is Here, a Cinematic Redesign, Now on the App Store

Treezy Play 1.5 is out on iOS: a full cinematic redesign, a smoother way to join, automatic profile portraits, and a fixed opening scene. Android is coming.

Three screens from the redesigned Treezy Play app, the onboarding reel, the Now Showing home screen, and an incoming call from Dr. Tiffany Belle

Today we shipped the biggest update to Treezy Play since launch. Version 1.5 is live on the App Store, and it looks nothing like the app you remember.

We call the new design language Cinema. Ink-dark screens, warm amber accents, editorial serif headlines, film grain, and imagery that drifts like a locked-off camera slowly pushing in. The idea is simple: an interactive movie platform should feel like a night at the movies from the first frame, not like an app that happens to play video.

What's new in 1.5

A cinematic look, everywhere

Every screen you touch has been rebuilt, the opening reels, sign-in, the home screen, membership, and settings. The home screen is now a full-bleed Now Showing marquee for our debut title, The Seminal Works of Dr. Tiffany Belle: poster art, the essentials at a glance, and two buttons. Press Play. That's the whole pitch.

🎬 Watch the trailer, one minute of The Seminal Works of Dr. Tiffany Belle, and you'll see what we mean by cinema that answers back.

The reels

First-time viewers are welcomed by four short reels that explain what Treezy is, and what it isn't. You're not just watching. You make choices. Characters FaceTime you mid-story, see you, and react to you. Your story branches, and your choices persist across every ending. The reels end where every good trailer does: ready to press Play.

Joining is now part of the show

The membership screen has been redesigned around our Founding 500, the first five hundred members who get in while the seats last. Clear plans, a real free trial, and no fine-print traps: you see the price, the trial length, and "cancel anytime" before you commit to anything.

Small things that matter

  • Profile portraits, automatically. Sign in and Treezy resolves a portrait for you (from your Google account, your Gravatar, or a generated one) no setup screen in sight.
  • The opening scene opens the movie. A long-standing quirk where Play could drop you into a mid-story menu is fixed. The film starts at the beginning, as films should.
  • Faster, steadier playback and a stack of reliability fixes throughout.

Android: it's coming

The question we get most, answered plainly: yes, Treezy Play is coming to Android. The Android app is in active development and already playing full stories in internal testing, same films, same choices, same calls from Dr. Belle, same Cinema design. We're polishing the last details before opening it up.

If you want to be first in line, keep an eye on this blog and our social channels: Android news lands here the moment it's ready.
