Synopsis
A Zoom-era whodunnit that plays out entirely as a family video-call quiz night. Uncle Marcus, played by Andy Buckley, David Wallace of the American Office, privately tells his niece Abby that he has been poisoned, and that the culprit is on the call. The viewer plays Abby, and the structure is the mystery's engine: each quiz round you partner with one relative, so a single playthrough can never interrogate the whole family. Identifying the poison, the motive, and the murderer means replaying the same evening with different partners, steering the small talk toward secrets each family member would rather keep buried. Directed by Steven Sheil and written by Dan Kiss for Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media, it turns the most mundane artifact of lockdown life, the family group call, into a devious detective format with six endings plus a true finale for players who piece together everything.
How the Branching Works
Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? features 7 distinct endings. At key decision points the film pauses and presents your options, your choice determines which scene plays next, reshaping alliances, outcomes, and the story's resolution. With 40 minutes of total footage spread across these branches, a single viewing reveals only a fraction of what the film contains. Replay to discover hidden subplots, alternate character arcs, and endings that only unlock when you choose differently.
