Troubleshooting Playback
Last updated July 6, 2026
Interactive films are streamed in adaptive quality, so most playback issues come down to connection or a stale session. Work down this list:
Video won't start or keeps buffering
- Check your connection, streaming needs a stable few Mbps; video quality adapts automatically but can't survive a dead spot.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular to rule out a network issue.
- Close and reopen the app, this rebuilds the player session.
Black screen or frozen scene
Force-quit the app (swipe up from the app switcher) and relaunch. The film resumes from its title page; your ending progress is never lost.
No audio
- Check the mute switch / volume rocker (yes, really, it's always this).
- If you're on Bluetooth, confirm the audio is routing to the device you expect.
- Background music and scene audio are mixed in the app; if another app is holding the audio session, relaunching Treezy reclaims it.
The story stopped at a choice and nothing happens
Choices wait for you, but they do have timers, if the countdown ran out, the story should continue on its own within a few seconds. If it's genuinely stuck, shake the phone to re-trigger the interaction, or relaunch the app.
The app closed the player unexpectedly
This usually means a scene's video couldn't be loaded in time. It's rare, it's usually the network, and a replay of that branch almost always sails through. If one specific scene fails repeatedly, we want to know, see below.
Reporting a problem
Email [email protected] with:
- The film and roughly where you were in the story
- Your device model and iOS version
- What happened vs. what you expected
That's enough for us to trace the exact scene in our logs.
